October Mischief

October mischief—
when the winds, they trick you.
It’s calm, you go out,
and halfway there,
the wind starts to shout.

It blows the trees,
it tugs at your coat.
You can’t stand straight,
you sway—
what an October day!

Soon I go home
and sit by the window with a brew.
October mischief,
I’m watching you.

The Wind Does Not Care Haiku

I watch the wild wind.
It scatters leaves everywhere.
The wind does not care.
