October Inn
October Challenge
Welcome to the October Inn
Located in charming Four Seasons
Down on Autumn Avenue
Where the chocolate's piping hot
And the windows fog over
with the chilled morning dew
We've warm blankets aplenty
for you to wrap up and take a rest
Even the wood floors are cozy
Blanketed with colorful woven rugs
There's always a room ready
And a pot of stew on the fire
Leaves blow in with every new lodger
Before our resident black cat
Chases them out the door
The faces here are rosy and
We stay up every night
Making s'mores and telling stories
Till the sparkling dawn arrives
We've got puzzles for days
Jigsaws, crosswords, and elaborate board games
Or you can read in our library by
Flickering candlelight
Relax in the leaves that we've piled up just right
Next door you'll find The Pumpkin Emporium
Where every luscious spice is in stock and
The largest selection of pumpkin variety
Are all waiting for you on the lot
Every item on their menu has a
Heaping helping of autumn flavor
Pumpkin lattes, and spicy soup
Moist pumpkin cakes and ravioli to boot
On the other side of our comfy lodge
Lies The Orchard
Pick perfectly ripened apples
Drink the cider hot right there
Collect cinnamon sticks, and caramel sheets
Take a pie tin that's ornamenting branches newly bare
They've got the fixings for your favorites
All made fresh within the hour

Salmon fill the river
Swimming upstream to mate and spawn
See them leap just beyond the hay maze
Filled with the babbling laughter of children at play
Chestnuts are roasting, wine is mulling,
and the pinecone crates are overflowing
If you can't make it in the next few weeks
I will reserve your room
For next year's cozy season
