OCTOBER 31

Boo!

 ##

 “Twas All Hallow’s Eve

And wouldn’t you know,

As the harvest moon rose,

So did a glow!

 #

 It was booking and leering

All through the night.

And its horrible screeching

Caused quite a fright.

 #

 Many ghosts whose appearance

Came as quick as a flutter

Disappeared just as fast and

Made my words stutter.

 #

 I heard clanging and hissing

And saw eerie black cats.

Did I just see a witch?

Or flying black bats?

 #

 I hope that’s a Jack-O’Lantern

Someone picked up over there.

I don’t want to think

What might be flying in the air.

 #

 The trick-or-treaters are laughing,

Their costumes a fright.

Did I just hear

A bump in the night?

 #

 I know it won’t matter

If I don’t go out.

There are all sorts of goblins

Roaming about.

 #

With the ghosts and the skeletons

And all things in between,

While you’re hearing strange noises –

        HAVE A HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!
