A new look at old lines

You can go gentle into that good night

(who would mind?)

The world can end with a bang and a whimper.

Between the Idea and the Reality is

a lot more than just some shade.

I can compare thee

to a day in autumn, winter or early spring.

My love is often like a red, red

poinsettia (once a year to remind me

of the holidays).

Not so much depends

upon

a red wheel

barrow

(and I don’t eat chicken)

A dream deferred

is worth two in the bush.

Some are born to endless

nights of sweet delight.

Some, like she, walk in beauty

wherever they choose to be

(stars and climes optional).

And if I count the ways

that I love thee,

I would never ask

if I should be

or not be.
