She browses book stores
Like she's searching for a star
Only a few will catch her eye
She hums Billie Holiday
In her Jeep on the way home
It's hard to believe she's had a troubled life
With how at peace she is with her everyday
Nothing is standing in her way
Yet it seems the whole world is against her
Why is this precious diamond such a rarity?
Why must she shine from inside a box?
Is it so hard? Life?
You are the only one in control of it
Choose to be whoever you want to be
No one is stopping you
Only you are standing in your own way
Believe what you believe in
Stand up for those ideas
Get as many piercings and tattoos as you want
Go to as many concerts
Get as wild as you choose
After all
Life is supposed to be free and beautiful
