An acrostic poem
Overthinking happens to be my specialty.
Very certain that it's a blessing and a curse at the same time.
Everything feels so out of control, with so many endless possibilities out there for me to explore.
Revolving door thoughts that I can't seem to escape.
Thought bubbles that pierce me in ways that hurt in the most unimaginable way.
Hurtful words and things from my past that still wound me to this day.
Intrusive thinking in patterns that I can't seem to erase.
Never seem to find the right words to express what's going on inside my head.
Kick that self-doubt to the curb they say.
I know it's easier said than done.
No words come out right when I speak because of the way my mind races some days.
Gibberish to many, but my truth carries weight.

Letter to our Queer & Trans Youth
Hey, you. I thought Iād start this letter by telling you a little about myself, just so you know who youāre dealing with. Iām an emotional dad, father to three amazing kids who we met through the foster care system, and whose presence in our lives has really transformed my sense of responsibility to the communities that surround us. The connections weāve made with one another, with our extended families, and with the communities where we live and look for belonging have catapulted us into this whirlwind of emotional tumult which, while not easy by any stretch of the measure, has also been remarkably healing. I realize ours is really only a one-sided chosen family, since our kids didnāt get to choose to live here, but Iād like to think that they did choose to let us love them, which allowed them to grow to love us. And I think thatās where I want to go with this letter- to a place where you can find belonging and healing- even if the pathway there may be peppered with some emotional tumult.

I related very well to your acrostic delivery; is there a balance somewhere between overthinking and underthinking? I am more of a coined term I use, an Over-feelqueen person. I feel so much and you certainly drew me on with this gem. Congratulations!
