Numb

Depression Poem

By VICENTE ARROYOPublished 9 years ago • 1 min read

Roses can be black,

Violets can be black too,

My soul is dark,

And my heart doesn’t beat for you.

The time we spent together has gone down the drain,

And heart has started to darken and my corruption has spread,

From my heart to my brain I feel dead,

And then again I remember,

My soul is dark,

And my heart doesn’t beat for you.

I recovered and made new friends,

But that black in my heart has begun to taint,

I begin to stay inside and never come out,

Hiding my head and my mind cause the darkness

Has taken over and I begin to reside,

My soul is dark,

And my heart doesn’t beat for you.

Every second is sad and every second is pain,

Getting out of bed makes me cry,

Sometimes I even think I’m insane,

I hear things and see things on the side of my eyes,

Nothing there,

“am I dying inside,”

Because my soul is dark,

And my heart doesn’t beat for you.
