Now Or Never

The Paths Never Walked

By Karima SH.Published 2 years ago • 1 min read

Photos we’ll never be in,

Buildings we’ll never stand before,

Stairs our feet will never touch,

Trains we’ll never board,

Tickets we’ll never buy,

Cities we’ll never see,

Words we’ll never hear,

Days that will never come,

Years that will never pass.

Is this what’s normal?

To live in the shadow of what could have been,

To dream of roads not taken,

And wonder about the lives we never lived?

In every missed moment,

There’s a whisper of what was possible,

A faint echo of a life untouched,

Yet, in this, there’s a strange comfort.

For in the absence of these paths,

We carve new ones,

In the cities we do visit,

The words we do hear,

The days we do live.

Perhaps the natural order isn’t in experiencing it all,

But in finding meaning in the choices we do make,

In the moments we do embrace,

And in the lives we do lead.
