Novel

you wanted me to be the answers

to all your questions, unsolved.

you cracked me open

tore through my pages

devouring each and every word

i instil.

you never asked,

you ripped the paper,

left corners folded

and smudged the words with your tears.

i am not your messiah.

i am not your right shouldered angel.

you chewed through the hard cover.

you didn’t even leave a bookmark

i lost place.

inscribed on the front to allow all

those that pass me

that i belong to you.

if i were to be lost or misplaced

to return to written name, immediately.
