Nothing To Prove, When A Life Is Smooth

Living in a safe groove

Where there was nothing to prove

Reality, proceeded really smooth

Never was there a huge move

Thirteen years free education

Four more paid, earned protection

Met the one and fell in love

Innocent and white, like a dove

Giving blessing from the almighty above

Vows exchanged

Agreed to a home on the range

Raised children

Worth a million

They all went down the same path

Had a laugh

Dealing with the economic math

And the moral majority wrath

Construction never showed a detour

Except for news and far off wars

Which were ignored

Shown the door

Keeping up with the bills

Sitting quiet and still

Strong or meek

Same thing happens every week

A simple life

Husband and wife

Working together

Enjoying any weather

How did life end up so smooth

Getting lucky in a certain groove

Honesty my friend

Is the reason. for the defend

Until now

Preparing for the curtain closing bow

Thinking about it

A little bit

On the porch

Feeling the burning eternal torch

Asking, who do you know?

To be casted in this earthy show

As Jane or John Doe

Whose lawn always was mowed

Naturally the heart came to a complete stop

Report written by the local cop

With a tear in the eye

Saying, “I never said goodbye”

To the generous one who made delicious cookies

And delivered them to the rookies

A healthy batch

With no catch

Rest in peace

Who we now known as deceased

You will find your heavenly groove

And prove

You are the star, shining bright

A guarding knight

Not wanting a fight

With smooth intentions

And humble mentions
