Nothing Remains

And nothing was ever the same.

By Bri CampbellPublished 2 years ago Updated 2 years ago 1 min read

Peak emotion, the utmost solemn mountain-

Immovable, waiting for a ray of light to glisten.

And time, time is immeasurable, allowing the sun and moon to arrive as they please,

fading in and out until day has no meaning.

Peak emotion like a volcanic eruption,

boiling, bubbling, overflowing with no clear direction,

trapping its victims until nothing remains.

Nothing remains- Nothing remains the same as before;

now all that lives is longing gloom.

Damn apathy, damn the world.

Who else is to blame for the emptiness in our hearts?

This world is near breathless,

poisoned by the tip of its own sword;

Her only saving grace is destruction.

Look how the children cry, look how the adults stare,

there’s an impending war on land and sea but we simply do not care.

Oh look how we win!

Oh look how much we lose.

Damn the world and all that remains,

What good has it brought to you?
