Nothing New

October 11, 2012

Suddenly, I find

My head in the clouds,

In the atmosphere, with no air,

And you tell me to breathe deep

Suddenly, I find

My body under the earth,

In the dirt, with no light,

And you tell me to open my eyes

Suddenly, I find

My thoughts are scattered,

In my mind, with no order

And you tell me to think straight

Suddenly, I find

Part of me is somewhere else,

Separated from the rest of me, no life to it

And you tell me to pull myself together

Suddenly, I find

It’s not so sudden

I saw it coming

It’s nothing new
