Nothing But a Gray Haze

I am Gray.

'Cherub Playing a Lute' Painting by Rosso Fiorentino 1521

I am Gray.

My pitiful lifes a tragedy. I wished I was nothing. Miraculously, I got my wish.

Suddenly, I was freely floating among the stars, formless, the last of my mortal soul rejoicing… then finally nothingness. Colorless.

. . .

Forever, however, is a long time to be nothing. At some point, I found myself near earth.

By proximity, I’d watch.

I am nothing. Still, I found myself comparing--

no pain, fear, hunger….

I am nothing, but as the list went on--

no love, joy, passion…

No color…..

Suddenly as much as nothing could want something, I wanted something, to feel anything... If only for but a moment.
