Stare at the blank page, pen in hand

Summon the words from the depths

of my mind—

Nothing

***

Cut my hand to let the words drip

from my veins—

Nothing

***

Call the words from the darkest recesses—

Nothing

***

All the blood, sweat, and tears cannot bring

forth the words that I cannot express

My mind as blank as the page before me

I have so much to say to you

but the words escape me

drowned out by the emotion

that once embraced them

now leaving

***

Nothing

sad poetry
