Woke up with the weight of the world on my chest

Tried to smile but the mirror confessed

I been running from the silence, it holler the loudest

Empty bottles on the counter, still drownin’ the doubters

Mama said keep your head up, but the ceiling feel low

Dreams turn to nightmares when the money don’t show

I was 16 with a chip and a pistol in reach

Now I’m 26 still fighting the demons beneath

Cousin caught a case, now he facing the state

I was riding shotgun, now I’m riding with fate

Every win got a loss ridin’ shotgun behind it

Every dollar got a body trying to claim it, can’t hide it

I been praying but the heavens on mute

I been changing but the old me still shoot

Tried to love but the trust got fractured

Tried to heal but the pain got backwards
