trigger warning: mentions of drugs, drug use, and sexual assault

If they could produce nostalgia into a drug

I wonder what kinds of hallucinations my mind would conjure up

It would be sold in a tube with a long needle.

It would be marketed towards those whose minds are feeble.

Would I smell the doctor's office or taste the lollipop at the end?

Would it bring back the Strawberry Shortcake coloring book?

Perhaps I would smell the cinnamon sugar toast my foster mom used to cook.

I suppose I would get a hint of the bad as well

No drug comes without withdrawals

The withdrawals bring back the bad memories

I see a drop of blood on my finger from pricking it while I was sewing my embroidery piece

I see my foster brother climbing onto me

I relive being separated from my siblings

If they could produce nostalgia into a drug

It would come with high highs

and low lows

The drug would let you relive good memories.

No drug comes without drawbacks.

Nostalgia, the most dangerous drug of all.
