No Witness

It’s a lonely road for me

No Witness

There are things I never say

and things I never share.

Not because they matter less

just harder left exposed.

People know selected parts

and fill the rest themselves.

They build a version of you

that feels easier to hold.

No one sees the smaller fights

that happen every day.

The thoughts that keep returning

when everything is still.

You carry old decisions

and wonder who you were.

You question all the places

where things turned out this way.

Some regrets stay quiet

and never leave a mark.

Yet somehow they stay closer

than brighter memories.

You learn to move beside them

instead of making peace.

Not every wound will heal

the way people describe.

There are nights for remembering

and nights for letting go.

Sometimes they look alike

until the morning comes.

I keep some things unspoken

and leave them where they rest.

Not hidden out of shame

just no longer asking.
