No More Tears

After all that I have endured, I thought it would end.

Little did I know, the universe was just playing pretend.

A cosmic jester with its sinister games,

Poking at my nerves, calling me names.

I was wrong about everything, I did have tears left to shed

~~~
No more tears, I keep telling myself.
Words so old, they sit upon a dusty shelf.
Sobbing and choking endlessly,
Resigned to my legacy,
Forever a slave to sadness itself.
~~~

Dusting myself off, that's all I can do.

Wiping my face as I go.

Why does it have to be so hard?

To dry up my tears? Am I forever barred?

Hopefully, that's not true.
