I remember when you first came to me with a smile.
I was absolutely sure that your love was worth while.
You said I was unique. A young special soul with a beautiful heart.
I knew we’d be together and we’d never be apart
You tried to tear my walls down. You made me receive.
I was reluctant but you convinced me to believe.
I grew dependent on you. It’s like you were my lifeline.
Little did I know you only loved me because it was the right time.
Like I was nothing more than a puppet. You had a hand in me.
One second you were family. When that second passed you abandoned me.
I thought your loved was unconditional. You loved me for your ego.
Once I had nothing left to offer you let me go.
Drained of blood and tears. There was nothing left to cry.
Getting you back? Why try? So much pain I wanted to die. Your love was all lies.
Held on to you very tight and I refused to let go.
You were deception, a mess but I guess I couldn’t let the mess go.
I really fell for the realistic illusion that you sold to me.
Quite the dream reality it was, but when the dream ended you let go of me.
I followed you blindly with no real sense of reason or rhyme.
You broke every part of my life up one piece at a time.
It’s like you were the perfect angel up above me.
What the hell was I thinking. You never really loved me.
Your fake love was a golden chain around my heart.
I couldn’t see it was fake until the day I stood up and took the chain apart.
So much time wasted. My future that could’ve been is how I paid the cost.
Pain from you is all I gained. So there is no love loss.
