What I regret the most,
Isn’t the fact I had to leave you,
I made my peace with that,
But the fact I had to move on
And build another life
After thinking we were forever
And were for always.
The stress of the change
Made me alone and cold
And feeling unworthy
And to others, too bold.
When I spoke of what I wanted
And said it with determination
I didn’t know it would lead
To the culmination
Of the end of what I thought
Was a beautiful life.
I’m only living, no longer alive.
