This senryu has the same structure as a haiku, but is not focused on a nature theme. The same 5-7-5 syllable structure based on social or emotional subjects is a senryu.
The inspiration for the poem is this story from Publishers Weekly.
A platform accessed poetry posted publicly in the Poetry Foundation archives and made it into children's books; with AI-generated art, discussion questions, and biographic blurbs.
The poets were not contacted for permission, not were they compensated for their copyrighted work.
This was only discovered when a poet did a search for their own name.
