No Eyes Should See What I Have

Thing no one should have, I have

No Eyes Should See What I Have

No eyes should see what I have through the years

Rooms full of horror and permanent fear

Some memories rot like disease in the head

Still waking me cold from the depths of my bed

I carry images burned into mind

Things no amount of time ever unwinds

Faces distorted by terror and pain

Returning each night over and over again

People speak lightly of darkness and grief

Knowing so little beyond surface belief

True horror settles deep under the skin

Changing the shape of the soul held within

No child should witness a mother struck down

Hear broken screaming through one tiny house

No trembling hands should be forced to conceal

Bruises and secrets too savage to heal

I saw a man die alone in the rain

Eyes full of shock and unbearable pain

Blood moving slowly like oil through the street

While strangers kept walking on indifferent feet

I learned very early how evil can hide

Behind polished smiles and respectable lives

Monsters wear ordinary clothing each day

Blending with crowds as they wander away

Sometimes I envy the innocent blind

People untouched by the things in my mind

Still somehow surviving has taught me this too

Broken souls often see clearest truth

No eyes should see what I have and yet still

The world keeps creating more horrors to fill

So I write these shadows instead of pretend

Some wounds stay living right up till the end
