No AC Air for Me!

In solidarity with who can't afford it

I live in a suburban smart house,

with a flick of switch,

I can get air-conditioned air

as low temperature, as I want

on these hot summer days.

Soon it will be autumn,

but I have not switched it on once.

It is a decision, a choice.

Do not do what is unnecessary,

what seems like a luxury,

when millions of people and creatures

are surviving day after day,

this scorching wrath of Mercury.

If they are enduring,

I sure can do too.

I do all my chores,

often drenched in sweat.

I was telling my kids,

those who cool themselves

with their own sweat

do not need air-conditioned air

to make them cool.

So, no AC air for me,

in solidarity with who can't afford it.
