A poem by me

By alan piercePublished 6 years ago 1 min read

I'm only ankle deep in grace while your ocean wind -- it sprays my face

Out there on the waters there's you but there's the depths

But if it's you, Lord...

Stay the course

We're gaining speed

Cause there's something real I need

And of course!

Yes, indeed

You're the one I need, the one I need

I finally take a step of faith -- can these calloused feet still run the race?

Out on the horizon I can't see the sun

But I see the One -- he's beckoning me on

Come at me hurricanes and tidal waves

Whatever shade of red I face

My captains with me every turn

Giving me a match to burn

My ships

Stay the course

We're gaining speed

Cause there's something real I need

And of course!

Yes, indeed

You're the one I need, the one I need
