Night in the City

A poem

Bathed in the light of the city

I swim through the gutters

to streets unknown,

Picasso’s faces onlooking.

-

A threat of violence

based mostly on what I wear.

-

The cold has a grip of its own these days

not as strong as the hand on my shoulder

so now, as I descent into a new darkness,

there is life

for the last time.
