Night After Night
after night after night...

I slipped frightfully
So uneasy
-
The creature in my room before I was in its' world
It perspired over me
Expanding and shrinking my habitat, in tandem
For self levity
Cause it is repetitive to be the darkness
That lives in darkness
-
This thing crunched my legs to my collar bone
Made my front my back
And my back my front
Retracting and expounding my limbs
All before I belonged to it
It was immobilizing me in reality
Before it met me in fallacy
So I wouldn't know which was which
What was what
Making me more incoherent
When I begged for company in bed
-
Should I stop with the build up
-
Probably not
Cause that's a part of poetry
Maybe the best part
-
-
I just really don't wanna see it again
It chased me for so long
So long, I forgot the age it started
-
I know I didn't tell anyone about this one though
It wanted me too bad
It would have crawled from my mouth
To swallow me whole
If I revealed its' existence
-
I knew this thing
This beast preceded familiarity
But I was a child
So I labeled it
The farthest thing from me
The most grotesque, atrocious, other worldly demon
Something that hadn't been brought to fruition by another mind
-
The behemoth's guttural screech could liquify organs,
Activate a dormant volcano,
Melt the rest of the polar ice caps
It quaked through my body even after I would awaken
When I entered its realm
We were always mid chase
And I was never very fast
Though I was always within its' grasp
The monstrosity didn't reach for me
It knew it had incapacitated me through the pursuit alone
Night after night after night after night after night after night after night...
