When I arrived in this strange land

Far from my home, I didn’t know what to do

I didn’t know where to go or what to see

All I could do was look around and explore

The sounds and smells overtook my senses

This new place felt so different yet so comfortable

As I explored, I began to find myself

I discovered new things about myself that I never knew before

I met new people and learned about myself

I found who I am and where I fit in

I finally found a feeling of joy and the peace that I so desperately needed

What was once a foreign land is now the place I call home
