A Sonnet

From fluid filled cave a new-born finds the light

In harmony with souls in distant fields.

On equal terms they share first breath of life

and feed upon their mothers natural yield.

Butterflies unfurl from womb cocoons

as babies peep from wicker basket views.

With widened wings they reach for hidden moons,

while grounded infants grasp for distant stars.

Sweet Spiderlings spread out like silken cloth

Above sweet child in deepest dreams of love.

Eight thousand eyes traverse this stranger’s path

to search for places suitable to weave.

Without the gift of life, there is no meaning.

Together we are one, at the beginning.
