Zenith of self-destruction
Yes, that is the age we live in
Xerox copies of the same problems,
Waging battle anywhere they can.
Vestiges of a once great land
Usurped by bigotry and hatred
Tearing away at our foundation.
So many heed the clarion calls of
Red-handed liars weaving tall-tales.
Queens and kings eager to crush us
Perverting young minds with their ways
One entity, many faces.
Now, some may stand against these
Multi-headed tyrannies and win
Losing seems to be the only outcome.
Killers of all makes and models
Jam daggers through our hearts,
Ignoring our garbled cries for peace.
Heaven can only look on helplessly
God didn’t do this, we did it to ourselves
Fighting when love would free us.
Every day is a war of the words
Despair is now our new language
Caging our hearts with hate.
Broken pieces, we are forced to
Accept this new, fragmented reality.

I am currently a student at a university, trying to find my way in life, while also trying to write a book. Lots of ideas bouncing in my head for potential articles, so we'll see how that goes. Cheers!
