NEVER POINT YOUR FINGER

Shit has habit of returning to the sender

NEVER POINT YOUR FINGER

Never point your finger when your hands are far from clean,
You may think you hide your dirt, but I can see what lies between.
You throw your words like daggers, thinking I will take the blame,
But shit often gets flung back, and it rarely misses the same.

You stand there acting righteous, with that judgement in your eyes,
While your own little secrets crawl beneath your pretty lies.
You think you have the high ground, think you’re standing on a throne,
But every step you take up there is built from things you’ve shown.

Don’t point at me for breaking when you helped to crack the glass,
Don’t blame me for the darkness when you were the one who cast.
You cannot light a match in hell and then complain about the heat,
Then turn around and call me wicked when I finally bare my teeth.

I have swallowed far too many words that should have left my tongue,
I’ve let people walk away believing they had somehow won.
But patience has a breaking point, and mine has found its end,
So if you throw your shit at me, don’t cry when I send it back again.

I am not your little scapegoat, I am not your place to vent,
I will not wear your dirty sins or carry your resentment.
You can point that bloody finger till the skin begins to crack,
But remember what I told you… shit often gets flung back.

You can dress your words in sweetness, you can smile and play the saint,
But I can smell the bullshit underneath the perfume and restraint.
You think that I am stupid, that I cannot read your act,
But every lie you throw at me is something I can throw right back.

So keep your little sermons, keep your finger pointing high,
Keep pretending you’re the victim while the truth stands in your eye.
I have danced around your bullshit, I have swallowed every attack,
But the next time you come for me… I won’t be holding back.

And when you finally realise that I was never yours to blame,
Don’t come crawling with apologies and whispering my name.
You threw your shit across the room, ha shocked when it comes back,
Because I warned you from the beginning…never point that finger at me.

So think before you judge me, before you sharpen up your lies,
Before you paint yourself an angel with that poison in your eyes.
For the truth may walk in slowly, but it always finds its track,
And sometimes the very shit you throw comes flying straight back.
