Forgetting
is a state of mind
all solutions sought:
remembrance required.
.
Eventually,
I make a choice;
A random selection
to leave a part of life behind,
discarded, like worn out shoes
that traveled far
and took you to places
that you no longer
want to visit.
.
Forgetting
is an act of courage
that releases thoughts.
It’s a conscious letting go
to leave a habit behind.
No excuse to keep you here
or hold you from the open road
or places where you feel the pull.
Fresh adventures taste better
than grey stale crackers
from the opened box.
.
Forgetting
is a reflexive flinch;
a switch turned off.
No decision needed
no worries, you say.
While all the while
you scream inside
stuffing memories
too painful to unveil.
Unless you make a choice
you cannot shine the light
to reveal them to your heart.
.
Forgetting
is a wiping out
with full consent
or something taught
on second thought
A mindset that
obscures the facts
that might have been
a lesson learned.
Forgive .
Don’t forget.
