Never date a policeman,
They always want to know the facts,
Where have you been, who were you with,
And why you did not answer back?

You tell them that you had a night,
And nothing happened, nothing new,
They look at you and start to ask,
A hundred questions just for you.

They notice every little thing,
A change of mood, a different face,
You cannot hide a single clue,
They find it out at their own pace.

You say you need some time alone,
They ask you why and what is wrong,
You tell them that you are alright,
They say they knew that all along.

They never seem to lose a case,
Especially when the case is you,
You think you have explained enough,
They find another thing to do.

They come home late, they need some rest,
They sit down and they disappear,
You planned a lovely evening out,
But now they are asleep right here.

So never date a policeman,
Unless you like to be observed,
Because they will notice everything,
Even the things you never said.

But when you need them, they are there,
They know exactly what to do,
So maybe dating one is fine,
Just do not try to fool him too.
