Darkness creeps, with stealthy pace
A chill in the air, a sorrowful face
The light fades away, and hope grows dim
A sense of despair, that weighs within
The heart feels heavy, the soul feels worn
A sense of defeat, that cannot be torn
The mind is clouded, with thoughts so bleak
A future uncertain, with no way to seek
The world outside, seems cold and grey
A reflection of the heart, that's lost its way
The darkness closes in, like a shroud
A feeling of hopelessness, that's hard to crowd
But even in darkness, there's still a spark
A glimmer of hope, that can light the dark.
