Nature’s Serenade

A poem and a song

By Rasma RaistersPublished 4 days ago • 1 min read

Let’s walk through flowery meadows,

while we can enjoy the warmth of the sun.

Let’s see nature at play -

while everything about us blossoms and grows.

*

Let’s look at the lovely butterflies

and the fat honeybees.

Suckling at the meadow flowers

and feel the warm breezes.

*

Nature is such a simple thing,

it has no restrictions.

It knows when to change

and offers its own beauty.

*

Soon you and I,

will be walking these meadows

and they will be different,

there’ll be a fall color to them.

*

Then we’ll look up at the sky,

where birds will be flying up high.

We’ll hear the honks of geese,

as they wing their way to the south.

*

The meadow will still be a meadow,

but now it will offer us,

colorful leaves blown from the trees

and cold winds will whirl about us.

*

Then we can go into the forest,

to take a look at what nature has provided.

There’ll be mushrooms growing,

underneath tall pine trees.

*

It will all come with no surprise,

there is a kind of magic,

in the nature surrounding us

and it quickly changes the scheme of things.

*

We’ll return to the meadow,

when it rests in winter’s frozen splendor

and there we will wander,

dreaming of when spring will come again.
