Nature's Erasing

4.4.23

By Katrina ThornleyPublished 4 years ago • 1 min read

The birds sang

An eventful march

That echoed among trees

Seeting strides

As we entered the forest

Relishing the silence

Of a world away

Where human guards

Are sent on vacation

And smiles are true

In answer to

Swaying grasses- speaking limbs

Trickling streams

A step back

To a starting point

Where possibilities abound

And choices seem endless-

Crossroads meeting

Creating adventures

We suddenly allow time for-

Clocks frozen in response

To shining sun

And the growing of nature's stems-

A world welcoming us

After we shunned it-

A world bringing peace

That sits in our souls

Until moonlight creeps in

Setting shadow beside-

When rain comes in

To cleanse our prints

From forest floor

And we are erased

Like we've erased others.
