Naïve Tea
April 4, 2016
A little potion
Goes a long way,
So potent,
With such potential,
Down the hatch.
I know better
But at the same time,
I don’t.
Somehow, it’s all about
What I don’t know.
I drank it.
Swallowed. I kept it down.
No nausea. No issue,
At all, no problems.
Why would there be?
Naïveté, gobbled up,
Without intention.
But knowing makes it
Not what it is, but it can’t be,
Just for not being something else.
Told it was cold.
Though I thought it was hot.
I drank, scalded. Scolded
Myself for it, but I still
Ate the moldy toast.
