Myrtle Green
"To truly observe perhaps is to take notice of the overlooked, the irregular and the obscure."

'Flare' - an original watercolour sketch by Ka Wai Carrie Tse
A fierce green.
An armour of spikes in amber yellow.
Sharp,
Hard,
Tough,
He shows anyone who comes close.
An edge for flare.
A commanding presence.
His bold colours demand an audience.
All eyes are drawn to the conker chestnut.
Noticing flecks of coral orange, I follow my gaze.
A soothing myrtle green.
An elegant coat.
Round,
Compact,
Sturdy,
She guards its seeds for bloom.
Grit,
Resilient,
Strong,
She weathers the storm.
Humble,
Unwavering,
Brave,
She blooms in adversity.
The true warrior of the wild.
Her honest colours endures time.
I am the bud.
