My Summer Sonnet

Sweet Treats of Summertime

Summer seems to come after Mother’s Day

There’s always one last snowfall I recall

This happens in Spring weather during May

Our Snow stays later in Spring and the Fall

Spring melts into the Summer breeze so warm

Sun scorches blacktop midday afternoon

School buses turn around stop by the farm

Flowers all blooming in the yard its June

Birds singing, fly around, and build their homes

Green grass, trees budding, frogs croak out to mate

Tilling done, seeds in, place the garden gnomes

Fire pit burning, kids out on the deck late

Marshmallow graham cracker smores good to eat

Summertime memories always a treat
