My Senses Astound
Let your senses guide you.
The blanket of snow as it covers the ground,
The therapeutic lightning and thunderous sound,
The smell of firewood burns through the night,
A crackling blaze and tranquil delight.
The earthy smell with a downpour of rain,
To feel the warmth of the fire's flame,
A symphony of sounds to fill my ears,
A vision of color to dry my tears.
Soft, crunching leaves beneath our feet,
The river flowing, a sound so sweet,
The smell of cut grass and flowers in full bloom,
The sun up above washes away all the gloom.
A forest filled with old oak and pine trees,
The crashing of waves in the vast open seas,
A blanket of stars on a warm summer night,
The illuminating moon is a radiant sight.
The feel of soft sand between my toes,
The salt of the ocean on the tip of my nose,
The sound of birdsong is a joy to embrace,
This blissful moment will linger with grace.
A babies cackle or a child's laughter,
Loving memories that linger long after,
A horizon filled with purples and pinks,
I lay my head down to get forty winks.
These five senses that guide our way,
Through all four seasons, their joy and dismay,
Through every sound, sight, feel, taste, and smell,
I'm under the enchantment of nature's spell.
