I believed it had to be a dream, or a scene from some old movie
A beast descending in the flames and a fire all consuming
A trumpet signaling the end, raining hail of burning embers
With glowing eyes ore a lake of fire to punish the the pretenders
I sat in fear, as I watched it burn, cleansing the earth and air together
Shivers slithered down my spine, like a snake released, untethered
The intensity singed my every breath and the sky appeared as lava
Storms clouds brewed with a rumble in a voice calling, Jehovah
I cried in fear of dying and I leapt out of my bed
Remembering the Bible verse of how the world would end
I don’t remember what happened next, but I awoke to someone with me
Reassuring there was time to change the way the world was going
So, I vowed right then and there that I would be a better person
To change the world around me and create another version
The fire did more than cleanse my mind, It burned a path for me to follow
And I will do the best I can can, if I’m granted a new tomorrow
