My Rainbow Girl

An insight into having an atypical child.

Red.

We go through the colours, you and I.

Orange.

All in order now. It’s mamma’s lullaby.

Yellow.

That’s your favourite, and will never change, I know.

Green.

Must be never eaten, but it can be grown.

Blue.

Baby brother wakes you each and every night.

Indigo.

Mysterious, a dark blue’s kind of right.

Violet.

Or light purple, that describes it best to you.

We’ve said them all, it’s time to rest, our colour chant is through.

It has to go in order, exactly like the song.

If it gets mixed, if it gets swapped, the game becomes all wrong.

You don’t like change, I know my love, so we never change this rhyme.

You are my girl, you’re true to you, be you for all of time.
