My Psalm

.......

By Harydo NeonPublished 5 months ago • 1 min read

Windows closed in a stuffy room, hiding from the light

Finding the darkest corner so I cower out of sight.

I count my failures while trying to nurse every scar,

And ask a silent God, "Where is it that You are?"

I am seeing the cycle, wheeling into the struggle and the sin,

Surrounded by heavy walls that keep the broken in.

"If You are with me, why is life so cold?

Where are the wonders that Biblical authors foretold?"

But You look past the shadow and the fear,

To speak a truth the world can’t even hear

I do not seek a passenger not a genie that grants wishes when I pray,

I need a partner for this labryinth filled with narrow ways.

I know it isn't in my muscle or my might,

Or how well I've mastered every spiritual fight

The strength I have is simply knowing that You are there,

In every heavy breath and whispered prayer.

When Heaven wants to move, it sends a soul to my home,

To take my shattered pieces and help me make it a whole.

Anointed with a mission to love the neighbor, stand within the gap,

And lead the lost ones away from the cliff, off a dead-end map.

I am trying to hold courage near to my chest,

Lay down the fear , lullaby to put all doubts to rest.

I would always trust in Your plans, for they are my story

My psalm to attest to the life I live, within itself, a testimony
