My Panic Attacks are back

Panic attacks are back again,

please God take them away.

They arrive without warning,

stealing the calm from my day.

My chest does not feel tight,

instead an icy cold begins,

creeping up my arms and neck,

like fear seeping into my skin.

I feel hungry sick without a reason,

my stomach turns and turns,

the room feels like it’s moving,

even when everything stops.

I feel faint and i close my eyes,

like I might disappear,

my body shouting danger,

when nothing bad is near.

I try to breathe through seconds,

counting moments one by one,

waiting for my heart to remember,

that I am safe, that this will pass.

These attacks come like shadows,

from places I cannot see,

I pray for quiet inside my mind,

for peace to come back to me.

Panic attacks are back again,

and I am tired, worn, and afraid,

please God hear this whispered plea,

please God take them away From me.
