My Mother, Gaia

Based on a true story

His Mother Gaia, she's the greatest teacher of them all,

From her roots, to the canopies, no matter how deep or tall.

All he needed was to listen, to her teachings that are ever-present,

And then the whole truth resurfaced, and his life experience became ever-pleasant.

She whispered to him that for one and all, selfishness is the path of misery,

Whereas the path of service and connection is higher and takes no wizardry!

His friends laughed and mocked; they didn't understand,

They chuckled and said he was now living in a fairyland.

He Lovingly lets them know that it's a preferable place to live,

As their unconscious ignorance is now pretty easy to forgive.

He tells them the trees are conscious and alive,

And that his tree teacher told him to swallow his pride.

"For there is no room for wisdom, if you are full of that.",

This hit home, so under her great shadow, he sat:

"I'm sorry I was ignorant, I thought you were just a tree,

but now I know who you are, and that is much wiser than me."
