My Morning

This morning I was out of bed early as usual
Time to catch up on mail, stories, everything beautiful
Well, it was raining. The sun is missing this morning
The day will get better. Or maybe it is a warning

As I start to type a response to a fellow writer
a chuckle starts to come. How I forgot my chiropractor
yesterday. It felt so dumb. That is what I went to town for
and then there was more. I took my computer to be the editor
and forgot to save the work I had done.
Oh boy. My day just came undone.

Starting over today. I have nothing but a noon meeting
I will redo my editing, I will be ready for the day, I will be writing
for this publication. Then I hear my phone. A text message
saying, "I am here, are you near?" Oh no, how did I manage
to mess this up? I thought it was a meeting I was going to on Friday.

It is Thursday isn't it, was my thoughts. I will call and say
I'm sorry, I got the days mixed up. I didn't know it was Thursday
"Ooops... so sorry, is it Thursday? I will check my calendar."
I am not ready, it will take me a minimum of half hour to be a passenger.

"You are right, it is Friday. It is a check-in for the hotel on Thursday.
Even if we were staying, we wouldn't need to check in this early."
I am so relieved it isn't me! I totally messed up yesterday.

I missed my chiropractor appointment. I am surely
going to apologize for that when we reschedule. If there was a
place out here for breakfast I would meet you, but no, and hey
I woke up hungry and had cereal. See you tomorrow
bright and early. Due to the weather, it will be a much better day to go.
