Pulled from my sleep

and silken sheets

into a world made just for me

Where darkened dreams

and dark thoughts seap

Like water rushing

over me

My feet afloat

glass mirrored scenes

The sandman spoke

of what would be

While helplessly

I'm lying still

And breathlessly

relinquish will

While world's change

before my eyes

The body aches

connecting ties

The skin

a sentimental taste

I'm dreaming

though I'm still awake

Another place

where time escapes

A nameless space

of unseen faces

The heart still beats

to keep the time

And souls compete

as silent mimes

Nothing makes sense

and all things do

The air is dense

and wet with dew

Memories run

like bleeding wounds

Words left undone

touched by the moon

That lingers still

till morning comes

Upon my sill

a beating drum

Announcing to fate

the dream to end

Allowed to awaken

once again

Until the midnight

gathers to claim

My childhood frights

call me by name

Into the world

that sandman rules

He wields his sword

a dreamers fool

One day my eyes

will close for good

Neath eerie skies

where truth is obscured
