My Imagination

A poem and a song

By Rasma RaistersPublished about a month ago • 1 min read

My imagination wants to fly,

far above and reach the clouds,

My imagination,

longs to dream the impossible dream,

flying to the moon and back.

It wants to take me from this world

and place me where I long to be.

It can make me laugh and cry,

make me remember the days gone by.

It can do so much,

make me dance and sing,

make me whole again

and when I feel like I’m all alone

in my heart it brings me home.

My imagination,

can bring back all the good times once more

and make me smile through my tears.

There is nothing that my soul fears,

when poetic words,

like waterfalls flow.

Playfully, magically,

emotions fill page after page,

as I put them forth,

upon the social media stage.

So easy to love, to live, to laugh,

expressions that delight,

imagery creating many wonderful sights.

A world that few can enter,

reserved for poets and writers,

holding gold-carved keys.

Late in the night it inspires,

brings my muses to me

and they give me all I desire.

As fingers over the keyboard,

do fly, leaving a trail of word behind.

Emotions that flow,

a love that can grow,

poetic words that rhyme,

an imagination taking me through time.

There is nothing to worry about,

as long as,

my wildest dreams,

can be mine.

So take my hand,

when the starry night curtain closes upon the day,

we’ll walk along the silvery path,

that the moonlight offers.

You’ll see how your thoughts,

mingle then with mine,

together I’ll take you,

into a world that glitters and shines.

Where love like a queen reigns,

where dreams are easy to fulfill

and a world of imagination,

takes us in.
