My Ignorant Neighbour

My ignorant neighbour

he rots in his own shadow

calls himself king

yet rules only rubbish and weeds

He struts with his chest puffed

like a cock bird on broken legs

his breath stinks of lies

his eyes crawl with spite

He thinks he is gods gift

but even hell would spit him out

a hollow skull

rattling with nothing but noise

The street laughs behind his back

a crown of mould sits on his head

his throne is a cracked step

his kingdom a yard of filth

One day his tongue will choke him

one day his pride will burn him

and when he falls

not a soul will bother to look

no one will help him get up
