My, How Time Flies!

It just Won't Slow Down

Where did the time go?

I’d slow it down if I could.

Oops! It’s speeding up!

The above Haiku poem was composed for entry into the Vocal+ Haiku Challenge that began on February 9, 2023 and will end on February 28, 2023.

It reflects on the hectic, busy lifestyle so many people now embrace.

Afraid to slow down and contemplate the unique problems and challenges of the 21st century, people find ways to fill in the days, hours, and minutes with meaningful (or otherwise) activity.

If there has ever been a time when we need to slow down and contemplate the problems that threaten our very existence, it is now!

Time is in a hurry to go somewhere. I wish we weren't so eager to hurry it along. I laughed when I read the last line. So very true. Love the haiku.
