My Hands Say It All
A poem about expression.
Ten, today what’ll it be,
Red Fire to scream a passionate friend?
Ten, today what are you feelin,
Deep Blue to remind you, the sky’s no limit
or that the depths of the ocean,
can’t hold you in it?
Ten, you get to decide.
Neon Orange? To speak of Summer and
Nights,
Filled with karaoke and lights
Living bold, unstrapped and carefree.
Or Neon Purple?
Taking more of a toned down approach,
Strutting boldness,
but less of the—
Hey look at me!
Ten, feelin less like yourself,
Wanting to just fit in for a change
Go Gray, Pearly White,
Maybe even beige?
Just tryin to skip drama
and a ticket for attention
I’ll stick with my French friend
while I’m in transition...
And when I decide I want back my voice,
I’ll let Ten reign it in
and make another bold choice!
But for now, the absence of color
I’m dealt.
To speak for the void
of emotions,
that’s felt.
